Introduction...

Happy Birthday to us! We have 450 books reviewed, 105 authors, and over 2000 hits, in only our first year! (Actually, we have more hits than that, but the counter didn't start until we were already 5 months old.) Check out our brand new Top 100 list! More cool new stuff will be forthcoming in our second year, including movie reviews, a new, improved categories list, and awards for other SF&F review sites, so bookmark this page!

So you want to find something to read. Do the back covers make you laugh? Do the excerpted comments of popular reviewers and authors all sound the same? If someone just says they liked a book, does that tell you if you'll like it?

The review will cover Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and some Historical. Each author has a page, usually written by someone familiar with that author or that subgenre. Author reviews and book reviews are on the same page. Overflow pages are clearly linked from the author's main page. A reviewer's "signature" is at the bottom of each section of reviews. Click on the name to read a paragraph about that reviewer's reading preferences.

Please remember- "The map is not the territory" (Lois McMaster Bujold). In other words, the synopsis/review we give a book is not the book, and you may have a completely different reaction. If you have opinions that differ from those expressed, if you'd like to recommend an author who wasn't included, or if you just want to discuss any of these novels (or others), please email me and I will forward your message to the appropriate reviewer. You can also use the new Request and Submit forms to talk to us.

Reviewers are exempt from this since they receive emails whenever there is a major overhaul of the site.
